Narrative
This piece carries my name. Born in one land, raised in another, I grew up between worlds. For a long time, connection felt like distance as if life was happening slightly beyond my reach. Until I understood something simple: If connection is missing, you become the link. El Lazo is built from interlocking forms inspired by the coffee bean — a quiet reference to Colombian soil. Small, curved, humble in shape, yet carrying origin, labor, migration, and ritual. Each link folds into the next, forming a continuous structure. Nothing stands alone. Nothing exists without the other. Yellow gold and white gold alternate throughout the bracelet — two tones in balance. Not merged into one. Not separated in opposition. Simply coexisting. When I returned to Colombia, I hardly spoke the language, But I felt recognized. Within four selected links, emeralds and rubies are embedded — stones born from the same earth that shaped that feeling of belonging. They are not placed on top. They live inside the structure. Heritage is not decoration. It forms under pressure. El Lazo is not armor. It is continuation. A visible connection between the boy who left and the man who returned. ‘’Thomas Nestor’’
